Kata “informasi” sendiri tidak disebutkan secara spesifik dalam Surah Al-Baqarah, namun terdapat ayat yang mengacu pada pentingnya mencari pengetahuan dan memahami ajaran agama dengan sungguh-sungguh. Salah satu ayatnya adalah ayat ke-269: “Allah memberikan hikmah kepada siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya, dan barang siapa yang diberi hikmah, maka sesungguhnya dia telah diberi kebajikan yang banyak.
